Stepping foot in the spectacular red-desert wilderness of Wadi Rum is like entering another planet. Covering 720 square kilometres of dramatic landscape Wadi Rum is an incredible example of Mother Nature at her finest. Aladdin, Star Wars and The Martian fans will recognise Wadi Rum from these popular films that have all used the desert as filming locations.
This spectacular red-desert wilderness is yours to explore for 24 hours on our Best of Jordan small group tour. Here's your guide to spending 24 hours in the Jordanian desert.
A special arrival
Arrive in Wadi Rum and be greeted with a traditional Bedouin musical performance. For centuries, the Bedouin people have called this harsh desert home, and we get a glimpse into their culture during the performance.
Exploring the desert
We immerse ourselves in the desert for the remainder of the morning as we explore its landscape and the many canyons that jut out of the red sand. We ride through the desert in Jeeps before exploring the desert further by foot during a hike. In what seems to be an endless sea of red sand and rock formations, exploring the desert will provide many 'wow' moments.
Lunch with the locals
Indulge in a traditional Bedouin lunch in the afternoon. We are in for a real treat in this small connection as the Bedouin people prepare lunch for us and we share a meal together. We connect with the locals and share stories over a delicious meal and with the stunning desert as our backdrop.
End the day with a superior stay
We spend the night in Wadi Rum to experience the beauty of the desert by night. Our unique accommodation in the middle of the desert allows us to make the most of our surroundings. We enjoy dinner and a good night's sleep before leaving Wadi Rum the following morning.
