One of the Middle East’s greatest historical and architectural treasures, Petra is a site to behold. We depart Amman after breakfast this morning for Petra. Along the way we visit Mount Nebo, where we stop and take in sweeping views across the Holy Land, and Madaba. Known as the City of Mosaics, Madaba is home to the impressive 6th century Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. We continue to Little Petra, known locally as Siq al-Barid. Also carved directly from the walls of sandstone rockface but encompassing a much smaller area than Petra, we stop in Little Petra for some sightseeing before continuing to Petra. We enjoy dinner at Al Qantarah restaurant this evening.
